Since it is spring
and the ground is ready
we are planting seeds
trusting the turning earth
to bring the harvest
Choosing carefully
the fruit we will need
preserved for winter days
We have been practicing
for a long time now
planting in our own soil
the seeds of our own harvest
Even the roots of what
you thought were weeds
can save your life
