Or Did You Think Crushed Hopes Couldn’t Reawaken?
Imagine a feathered blown-glass
sculpture falling from its pedestal,
its opalescent fragments
scintillating a thousand suns.
Imagine deft fingers placing
tesserae after tesserae
stretching an unending mosaic
breathing with renewed hopes
under fingertips’ beating pulse
as though these fingers
recomposed shredded documents
into different new meanings.
Imagine how the firebird
emerges spiraling, ruffling
its feathers, follow
the undulating neck, wings ready
to pulsate within restricted space,
its spirit throbbing, about to soar.
