✨ Portrait of a Reader: Megan Willome
Texas. Biking. Clear River Ice Cream. Meet a fellow Every Day Poems reader!
As part of our upcoming 12th birthday celebration, we asked readers to share about themselves and their experiences with Every Day Poems.
Megan Willome has joined in and shared some fun things we hope you’ll enjoy!
About Megan
Reader Megan Willome, who’s been with our Every Day Poems community for all 12 years, is a writer and editor whose hobby is arguably poetry.
She loves to walk her dogs in the early morning dark and moonlight. Biking and hiking are two of her favorite pursuits. You might also catch her doing yoga in the park.
Geography
Megan lives in Fredericksburg, Texas, where she waits for the bluebonnets in spring.
Every Day Poems Reading Ritual
“I don't open my email first thing,” says Megan, “but when I do, I open it to Every Day Poems and leave it up until I'm ready to do business work (as opposed to writing work). That way I get to read the day's poem several times, when I'm tempted to check email before it's time.”
Tea or Coffee?
Both. But always tea with poetry.
Cake
Carrot.
“Best purchased,” notes Megan, “by the slice from Clear River Pecan Ice Cream, Bakery, & Deli, here in Fredericksburg.”
Birthday Greeting to Every Day Poems
“Many happy returns of the day!”
Quote from Every Day Poems to Send to Herself on Her Own Birthday
“The dark thing is hardly visible
in the leaves, under the sheen.”
(From Linda Gregg's “A Dark Thing Inside the Day”)
.
Thank you, Megan, for sharing with the community! :)

One day I will get to see a blue bonnet in real life.
With you on the carrot cake, Megan. And those bluebonnets are gorgeous! EDP is nearly always the first message I read:)
