We went back to see who’s been with the Every Day Poems community since the beginning. That’s almost twelve years ago!
Imagine how many poems have given these readers insight, solace, and inspiration since then. Imagine how many cups of tea (or coffee) accompanied their reading. Wow.
The Top 10 Subscribers
In order of subscription date (sometimes down to the hour, to see who came first), here are the Top 10 Subscribers who are still with us after almost twelve years:
Glynn Young (are we surprised? ;-)
Karen Fendick
Sandra Heska King
Megan Willome
Maureen Doallas
Karen Swallow Prior
Angela Alaimo O’Donnell
Tara Owens
Danielle Tippy
William Joiner
Some of these readers have also been quite active over at Tweetspeak Poetry, even occasionally writing for us; and some became editors or contributing writers. (We love the Commit Poetry series from Sandra Heska King. And Angela Alaimo O’Donnell has given us comedic and thoughtful insight into the sonnet, the ode, the cento, and the villanelle—as well as beautiful reflections on haiku.) Four of these readers (so far) have also become authors with T. S. Poetry Press.
It would be fun to know: how long have you been reading Every Day Poems?
What keeps you reading?
And, do you have any favorite poems you’ve kept over the years?
We’d love to hear. :)
So many illuminating poems over the years via EDP!
Laura Foley's, "The Quiet Listeners," is very close to my heart. The trees remind me of a dear family member of mine. <3
And "Any Morning," by William Stafford still hangs on the refrigerator, making me smile whenever I read it.
Over the years, my mind returns to "Bread and Roses," by James Oppenheim, shared way back on January 16, 2015.
And then there's Tess Gallagher's, "Choices." <3
I’m loving this walk back in time!!!!
