The AI voice is absolutely featureless and uninteresting. Laurie Klein's reading is so expressive I actually find it distracting. I prefer the second voice, and would've voted for it if it were easier to hear.

Thanks so much for the feedback, Adie. :) The second voice was recorded straight from computer mic to Substack, so it shows what that setup would sound like. (We were trying to compare, to start, what could be done straight through Substack.)

Is the black background on the 2nd video okay with you? Or do you prefer a picture background, as in Video 1 and Video 3?

Either background is fine--I probably wouldn't be looking at it, because I try to limit visual distractions when I'm listening.

what did *you* think of the bell, bethany?

It startled me out of the poem. Boo!

But it wouldn't stop me from playing the poem, now that I know it's coming. I guess it lets you know, It's Over!

Option Two would be my option two. Pleasant voice, and simple, just a little far away, as you noted. So if that could somehow be closer, that would be a great option. I'm fine with the black background, but do like how the words show up.

Option Three takes the cake! (Personally, I would love to hear Laurie Klein read my poem, or any poem. I usually read along when I'm listening to a short piece of poetry, versus audiobook novels.)

(I do like the photo and

production quality of the first, just not the AI's delivery of the poetry.)
